Having finished Flatiron School this past May I have begun my job hunt for my first software developer position. While I may not have a position right now these apps have helped me stay on track and enhance my time to obtain that position. In this post I will cover my favorite apps that I use on a daily basis to keep track of applications, code, and learn new skills.

Visual Studio Code

The first application which is also my most used application alongside with chrome is Visual Studio Code. This text editor was used daily when I was enrolled in Flatiron and continues to be used ad my main text editor. I have become familiar with the layout and shortcuts and have found it very difficult to switch to any other text editor. Along with the thousands of extensions available to further customize this text editor it is clearly my favorite editor out right now.

Trello

The next app I use is Trello. This app is focused for working in teams but I use it mainly as a daily or even a weekly planner. The options to add tiles allow me to add any applications I have to complete by the end of the day or bugs that I have to fix on an app that I may forget. Overall I enjoy this app and cannot see myself not using this app in the future.

LeetCode

The final app that I have been using during my job hunt is LeetCode. I have been using this app mostly to refresh my skills or to learn new algorithms or even to test out new solving methods on popular interview questions. Without a doubt this is my favorite problem solving app and have been using this app frequently and don’t see myself stoping with the vast number of problems on the site.
